Originally a software engineer with a BSc from the Barcelona Schools of Informatics I also hold a PgDip in International Cooperation and Development from the Technical University of Catalonia. For more than twelve years I've worked for several companies and non-profits in different countries such as France, Germany, Viet Nam, Indonesia, Spain and New Zealand. My field of focus since I graduated has been designing and developing software, becoming a specialist in the domain of web applications.
I'm currently completing a MSc thesis under the supervision of Dr. Giovanni Coco. We're looking at sediment dynamics in the intertidal area of the southern Firth of Thames (Waikato, North Island). My work is funded by the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) and co-supervised by NIWA scientists Dr. Andrew Swales and Dr. Iain MacDonald.
My interests are broad; coastal environments and processes, conservation, citizen science and community-led restoration. I regularly write about these topics on my website.
