Charline Dalinghaus

Biography

I'm Oceanographer and got my BSc at the University of Vale do Itajaí (UNIVALI - Itajaí/SC/Brazil). In my Bachelor thesis, I've worked with GIS analysis, beach profile measurement, and sediment analysis to verify beach morphodynamic evolution over time and space.

My MSc was in the Geography program at Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC - Florianópolis/SC/Brazil) - research line of Coastal Oceanography and Marine Geology. My master research focus was on statistical analysis of wave data (including extremes) and coastal modelling of wave, current, and sediment transport as well as beach profile and planform stability to verify if the wave climate was changing and how this change was affecting the studied beaches.

For more than four years, still at UFSC, I've also worked in coastal modelling projects in partnership with the Brazilian Environment Ministry. This brought me to specialize in project management (MBA - UNIVALI).

Currently, I'm a PhD student at the University of Auckland (New Zealand), and my research focuses on coastal flooding prediction.
