Li Liu

Biography

I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Auckland.  My research, funded by the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), aims to develop models to assess how seafloor disturbances increase carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. These models are designed to estimate the carbon sequestration potential and economic value of reducing habitat disturbance while enhancing habitat conservation and restoration. Additionally, I will adapt and apply coupled diagenetic and sediment resuspension models to quantify the impact of different disturbance levels and fishing gear types on carbon mineralization footprints.
