Mariane Couceiro Pullig

Biography

I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Auckland (New Zealand), funded by the Our Changing Coast.

My research addresses the large-scale effects of climatic impacts on coastal sediment budget.  Different scenarios of changing approaching waves and Sea Level Rise are simulated In order to estimate the coastal adaptation. The model framework needs to account for sandy and rocky sections of the coast and incorporate sediment delivered by the rivers is important. The model will be applied to the New Zealand coast "Bay of Plenty", a complex coastal section.

I completed my masters in Oceanography/Coastal Oceanography Laboratory, at the University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. My thesis addressed  the bypassing process at a headland-controlled large-scale mixed energy tidal inlet.
